Question about 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara 4WD

Open Question

My radio is locked out after a battery change.I paid for a code online but the code does not work, evidently the previous owner had a pin on the anti theft device and now I can not access it.I just bought the 2007 Grand Vitara and this is very disappointing. The serial number on the radio is 0009871.When the vehicle is on for 15 minutes the display reads code 0000,I then enter 4316 which is the code given to me by the Internet service I bought it from,it then gives me - - - - for 15 more minutes. Please help.

SOURCE: radio code

No tricks...if you got any of the original paperwork with the vehicle check and see if anyone wrote down the code (on the inside cover of the manual etc) If not, go to any dealer and show them that you are the owner and they can get the code for you. When you get it, write it down so you will always have it! (I never heard of a dealer charging for that info)...Good luck with your vehicle!

SOURCE: The radio on my 1997

If you have the anti theft code you can try disconnecting it from the battery and again connecting it and it will ask for the code .

Once you enter the code it must start working.

Who would be the dealership for a saturn 2000 ls ,i bought it used and radio needs code

Saturn is a GM product, take it to any Chevy dealer and they should be able to help you. Although, if the previous owner left the car manual in the glove box then the factory unlock code should be there, unless they previous owner changed the code then the dealer will have to reset it.

Will not turn on. Screen says open anti lock

Is this the radio that won't turn on or the vehicle? Either way you can call service shop for the instruction on how to reset it. You'll need to prove ownership of the vehicle. You may also find the codes and instructions in the vehicle owners manual especially if a previous owner has ever been through this before.

Just brought car, private sale, car sat for a year, new battery replaced before car sat. Owner states radio was working, but now it doesn't. What can I do?

its most probably in LOCK mode..

its a anti theft device..and yes, the radio locks up..WHEN THE BATTERY IS CHANGED..or when battery power is lost (ie dead battery)..

check the owners manual, for the code, or ask the previous owner if he know s the code..or lastely...and i hate to say it...go to dealer..

hope this helps..

We changed the battery in our 2001 Lexus LS430. It was dead and required a jump to start it. The new battery is installed, but now the radio does not come on. What happened?

The radio is probably locked out due to the antitheft system. It needs to have the security code (PIN) entered to get it working again. If you do not know the PIN. you will have to take the car to the dealer to get them to unlock it for you.

My battery was empty because it was to cold, and when I put a new battery, car stereo is asking for a security pin.

you will unfortunately need to contact the dealership if it is a factory radio this is a anti-theft deterrent

it is also possible the salesman or previous owner if applicable wrote the # down someplace such as in the owners Manuel or other paper and i would suggest looking there 1st ...also note you get 3 try's before being locked out from entering the code again for 1 hour

Code for the radio am and fm on security loc i was changing the battery and the radio won't come on it just reads loc

it needs to be called in to the MFG ..or dealer it is a anti theft deterrent and only a dealer can make the call ...Otherwise perhaps the previous owner wrote the code down in the Owners Manuel .

The battery died on my 2001 eclipse, now the radio only says ''off''?

This is the anti-theft device on your factory radio. When the battery died, the radio thought it had been removed from your car and went into anti-theft mode. When you turned the car back on, the radio should have read "CODE" on the display, at which point you need to enter the factory anti-theft code. After 3 failed attempts at entering the code, it will simply read "OFF" and the radio is locked.

At this point:
- find your factory anti-theft code - it should be in your owner's manual, or you can contact a dealer to retrieve it
- turn the key to the ACC position (radio and accessories on, but engine is off)
- turn on the radio so the display reads "OFF"
- let the car sit for 1 hour
- radio will turn off automatically and reset
- turn the radio on again, and it should read "CODE"
- enter the factory anti-theft code

Make sure you have the code before starting the procedure. To enter the code, use the radio preset buttons. For example, if your code is "4321", hit Preset #1 button four times, Preset #2 three times, Preset #3 two times, and Preset #4 one time. Then hit the "Tape" or "CD" button. Radio should now be unlocked.

Battery replaced on 2001 grand dodge caravan now radio dont work

U will need to enter the radio anti theft code, this lock out was triggered by the loss of voltage to the radio during the battery change, this code is unique to each radio and cam in the owners information packet when the cat was sold new.
