Question about 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer
Take your vehicle to an autoparts store that checks this for you. They will pull a code from their scanner, which will tell you what the problem is. Or buy a scanner yourself, you'll pay for it the first time you fix your problem yourself.

The Check Engine light comes on when the ECU detects a problem with the emissions system. Rarely does it come on and then go off again. Make sure your gas cap is tight. Turn it until you hear it click 3 times. If that is not the problem then you need to have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool if the light comes on and stays on. If it just comes on intermittently then do nothing until it stays on all the time which it eventually will.
