Gauge cluster

You can unplug the harness at the tank and see if the gauge circuit is shorted to ground between there and the dash.

My 97 S-10 Blazer fuel guage wont work

Likely, it's the sender unit in the tank. To check wiring and your dash gauge, you can pull apart the connector at the fuel tank, find the wire for the gauge sender unit (its color coded-I dont kinow what the one for your car would be), and on the harness side(the one going to front of vehicle) use a jumper wire and ground that wire to the car frame(get me? you want to ground the wire going to your dash gauge)-with key on, your gauge working properly will move up to half-way or even full. That tells you your dash gauge is working and your wiring to gauge is good. If gauge doesn't move when grounded(double check for a good ground), then your dash gauge may be bad.

My gas gauge works (not incredibly accurate, but works). When i stop for more than a few seconds the gauge goes to empty. when i start moving it goes back to full and slowly comes down to where the gas...

As far as the gas gauge level goes, it sounds to me like it could be the float ball system that is inside of the gas tank, which is connected to the fuel pump.I dont think your guage in the dash is broke, but i could be wrong. Sounds like something in the fuel pump area

Changed oil sensor gauge, the oil gauge stays high doesnt move even when pickup is off do i need to change the gauge, also dash lights are out do i need to pull the the the dash. thank you

Your problem isnt most likely the gauge itself but the instument cluster, more over the circuitry for the gauge cluster.

You have a few options...
1. take it to GM and have it refurbished.
2. buy a new one from GM.
3. Get one from a salvage yard.

Hope this helps ya out.
