Question about 1998 Dodge Durango

1 Answer

Power windows The back power widows are stuck in the up position. The driver and passanger windows work properly. The power locks work. The power window lock is off, they will not work from the master switch (driver door) or their switch on the back door. What do you think needs to be replaced?

I think on that year there is a safety switch on the inside of rear door jam so the children cannot roll windows down and fall out. It should be on the back door when you open the door look for a caution sticker that says child protection switch, I sure hope thats the problem And if so Great If not get back to me I can look up where the power relay is for rear windows. Ok Take care, Bear001

It must be the rear power window relay in the master fuse and relay panel under the hood, you should be able to change it with the other relay for the front windows there must be two relays on that system, Check that and see if that helps you out any. there should be a diagram on the bottom of the fuse relay center. Let me know I will try to get back to you asap if, I am real busy with my shop but I usually check once a day. Ok take care

My passanger front window is stuck in the down position. Could this be the window switch?

The same thing happend with my 94 lesabre. I thought it was the switch but i realized that the switch was fine. I went at the junk yard and got my self a power window motor. That is proboably what is wrong with your windows. I recommend that you get yourself new or used window motors and that sould do it!

Best of luck

On my 2001 kia sportage the back two windows won't go down and the right front window is stuck halfway up

make sure power windows lock out switch on driver side not on position, that will cause power windows not work or you have faulty power window relay.

Windows don't work at all and only passanger lock works?

Check your window lockout switch, it will either be on the drivers door or the console. It's there to keep kids from playing with power windows. Check your fuses inside the cab and under the hood for window fuses. The door lock problem would be a defect inside the drivers door since both locks are wired together. If this is sometime that just happened I would suggest you contact your insurance company to see about attempted theft damage. Someone could have slipped in a SLIMJIM and messed the wires up in the drivers door. A body shop could tell once the door panel is removed.
