Yes it could be a fuse, the fuse that it would be is either with your radio system, or your SRS

Where is the keyless entry code on the vehicle for a 2010 Ford Explorer XTL?

Many models list this code on the production list of options on the cover plate to the spare tire/wheel...As a last resort, you can contact Ford, as the new owner and request the code directly from Ford...Most Ford Dealers are helpful to retrieve this also...you can check your system by pressing #8 then #9 on your door keypad, and this automatically locks all your doors. Good Luck, the Explorer is an excellent choice...Hope this helps. Also ask your Ford Dealer for the operators manual for this...

I want to add a keyless entry to my 1996 Ford Explorer XLT 2WD 4.0L and also a remote start. It does not have any type of remote for the vehicle right now I.E. alarm system. Is it possible to do a remote...

This is possible with almost any vehicle, especially ones with power locks. I installed keyless entry on someone car before on my own. Took about 3 hours or just take it to a local shop. Its a pretty easy install for anyone who is mechanically inclined.

How to find the Security Keyless Keypad Code on the 1995-2001 Ford Explorer or Mountaineer and how to use the Keypad functions. The factory code is also printed on a label which is installed on the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) Module. This is the module that controls the keyless entry system. It is located in the left rear quarter behind the removable panel (see photo). You will need to turn the two thumb screws counter clockwise and take the plastic panel off to be able to see the unit. A flashlight may be helpful in seeing the code. You are looking for the module and the 5 digit code on it like the one shown below.

Now that you’ve got the code I’ll tell you how to use the Keyless entry and set-up your own code.Make sure when pressing the controls on the keyless entry keypad you press the middle of the buttons to ensure good contact with the controls.

Check this for Programing the Keypad.

Yes, Fords have PATS system, which is what controlls your keyless entry. It is the computer for your key fobs and keyless entry. You might have tripped itby accident, and your only solution is to take it to a dealership or someone who has Fords reprogrammimg computer to have it reflashed.

Key Pad Entry does not work

does the key pad light when you press a button at night? If yes, the fuse is ok.
Do you have the plastic card with the permanent code in your owner manual packet? If yes, tryit.
report back.

Keyless Entry The keyless entry keypad is hardwired to the GEM. The GEM interprets the inputs from the keyless entry keypad and then controls the associated operation. The keyless entry keypad will be illuminated for five seconds when any button is pressed. Additionally, it will request the illuminated entry feature to turn the courtesy lamps on. If a lock all doors code is entered, the illumination will turn off, as well as request the illuminated entry feature to turn off the courtesy lamps. When pressed, the keyless entry keypad supplies the ground signal to the GEM or the GEM receives a signal from the keyless entry remote transmitter. Then the GEM outputs a ground signal to the appropriate lock or unlock relay which supplies the power to the actuator to lock or unlocks all doors, including the luggage compartment. The keyless entry remote transmitter also unlocks the liftgate or activates the panic alarm by sending a signal to the GEM.

2003 Mercury Sable, Driver's side remote keyless entry keypad not functioning

Doubt its a fuse. Most likely the key pad has failed and needs to be replaced. On the bright side this is a good problem to have and you have a very reliable car.
