It sounds like the throttle positioning sensor, the mass air flow sensor, or the manifold air pressure sensor may be bad. If your check engine light has ever came on during the high idle, then the computer will have that code stored. And you can take it to Autozone and have them run a diagnostics on it to find out which sensor is causing this. Autozone will do it for free.
