I lost my buick century 2001 do i replace it

Unless the Vehicle has been "re-keyed", any GM Buick Dealer can cut a new key, based on the VIN No. It will cost about $20-30 for an ignition key. A bit less for the Trunk and Doors.

Lost keys

the short answer is no, u need the original key to cut the correct new one with the correct value to signal the security system to let you start the car, u can have a key cut that will turn the ignition on but the car will not start. The dealer needs to do this for you, as a reprogram of the security system is needed.

How do I replace the ignition (keys's lost) in the steering?

did u get a key that was the proper code? these keys have a little piece of resistive wire embedded in the key, does the key u had made have that? if not it will not work, u can't just get a key cut, they have numbers to select the proper resistance value for the key to work with your security system.

2000 Buick Regal

hi im wes
only thing you can do is take the vin number to gm and they can make you a key usualy about 50 bucks. if you had the right key i could walk you through bypassing the key reader but you would need to know the ohms of resistance of the chip hope this helps wes
