Have a 99 jeep grand cherokee 4.7. it runs ok for 5mins when cold then once it warms up it seems like it is running out of gas, then shuts off and won't start until cool again. Also has small tap or knock in engine that just started.

This happened to me, it ended up being a bad coil mine had the independent coils (one for each spark plug) and it was causing a misfire which caused an audible ticking as well. i bought one and just kept moving it to the next until i found the one that needed to be changed its a electronic device and thats why it fails when it gets hot.

I have a1995 Grand cherokee with v 6 4.0 L IT run when it's cold but when it get's warm up it stop's running what can do. .

Find the egr valve on the intake. It will have a vacuum line connected to it. Start the car when the engine is cold and let it warm up. As soon as it begins to die, disconnect the vacuum line from the egr. If the engine no longer stumbles and holds idle, replace the egr. Basically the egr is the exhaust gas recirculation valve. It lets the engine re burn exhaust gas. They tend to stick in one position after time from carbon build up.

fuel pressure seems a bit high...could be a bad regulator. can't remember if yours is on top of the sending unit (on tank) or on the fuel rail though. Do more testing there.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee stalls immediately after

check intake manifold air temp sensor and engine coolant sensor...one may be out of range but not enough to turn on dash light. tests and specs can be found in chiltons or haynes, test is done with digital multi-meter.

Engine runs fine, no problem want's tempature is

I had a similar problem with a Ford Excursion, it turned out to be intake manifold gaskets. It would stall then start right up again, it ran fine during warm up. But, once fully warmed up it would stall at stop lights and stuff like that. I did get a check engine light, the code was lean condition. I don't know on a Jeep, sorry I can't be of more help.

1997 jeep cherokee cranks and runs fine but after it warms up when you let off of the gas it shuts off. then when you try to crank it back up it acts like it is starving for gas then it will rev up and...

Change the coolant temp sensor - the one in the thermostat housing that sends information to the ECU

I am 99% that is what is wrong.
