Changing the brake pads on the grand am gt requires the removal of the wheel. Once the wheel is removed, you will need to use a 1/2" impact socket to unscrew the bolts located behind the caliper (what holds the brake pads). There are two of these bolts to remove. Once those are unscrewed, remove the caliper and let it hang from the brake line. From here you can take out the brake pads, and the rotor as well if you need to change those. The brake pads can be replaced in the same configuration as the ones already in there. To put the caliper back over the rotor, you will need to pushe the hydraulic cylinders back to allow room for the unit to slip onto the rotor. This can be done with a scissor-like tool you can get at a car parts store.

Make sure it is at operating temperature before you attempt removal....PB blaster or Liquid Wrench should seep down the threads....but make sure the engine is hot!

Nissan troubleshooting

if you never had the problem before the tyres change and brakes. then I would say this is the fault. brake pads/disc may be sticking or the tyres have not been balanced or done properly. both the problem of the person who did these jobs.

Squeeky brakes and tire maitanence light on. I only have 32000 miles on my 2009 murano.

first check your discs and pads to see if pads are worn down or there are any score marks on the disks, also the metal antivibration shims in front of the brake pads for wear and tear.check tyres for wear wrong tyre preasures/unballanced, and steering problems can cause exesive wear on tyres.

Check the Wheel Bearing and the hubs as those models having common problem on the Wheel bearings as well as the Bearing carrier. Try to investigate ASAP as the Carrier might get broken and will give you big damage.
