The water pump on the 92 Laser is easily replaced. You just need to
untension the the belt driving the bump. Once you have done that all
you need to do is undo the bolts and take the pump into your local auto
parts dealer. Now that you have the pump install it and retension the
belt.
U actually have
to remove alternator belt and powersteering/a/c belts, then remove
timing belt cover, remove timing belt adjuster, and slide timing belt
off top pulley, making sure you mark it before removing it, so as to
put it back in same position. Next, unbolt 2 bolts at bottom of water
pump (this is a bit fiddly, but doable, then, undo water pump, replace
with new water pump, being sure to use gasket cement, aswell as new
gasket, which should be supplied with pump, then put it all back
together, in reverse order of removal. Fill cooling system, check for
leaks, and voila, u have done it :)
