Question about 1991 Cadillac Fleetwood

1 Answer

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me where the fuel filter on a 1990 cadillac fleetwood rear wheel drive is. The car has a 4.5L pf1 v8, and i have heard that the fuel filter is somewhere on the drivers side underneath the car.

1990 Cadillac Fleetwood when the engine is hot it starts bogging out like its going to cut off or like it's not getting gas what's wrong

Could be catalyst converter probably bad its plugging up inside which would cause the car to act that way. Other wise engine temp sensor may be bad and when motor gets hot that sensor isnt reading right so engine run tge way it does til you shut it off and let it cool off then it reads normal again

1990 cadillac fleetwood die when iddling and sputters at stops.

Sounds like you might have a weak fuel pump. You need to check your fuel pressure you didn't say which engine it has but if its a 5.7 you need 9-13 psi with the engine running. If its not within the specs then replace the fuel pump and filter.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me where the fuel filter on a 1990 cadillac sedan deville is. The car has a 4.5L pf1 v8, and i have heard that the fuel filter is somewhere

On the frame directly below the rear passenger door drivers side, above the E-brake cable and fuel return line. Be sure to loosen the fuel cap before loosening the outlet/inlet lines to the filter or fuel will continue to flow due to pressure in the tank also have a container to catch what fuel is in the filter/line. A 5/8 and 13/16 wrench should be the tools to use.

1990 Cadillac Fleetwood - "popping noise in front left wheel area when first accelerate and then very loud when car slows down or brakes are pressed. Help, I love my car!

This is not a do it yourself project. It sounds like part of the front suspension has broken loose. It is possible that it is a wheel bearing or a drive shaft. Anytime you dissamble the steering wheels, you stand a good chance of losing control after you put it back together. This is one where a trusted mechanic needs to get involved.
