Hi there!

It is obviously loosing it - either by boiling off, or leaking.

When you park - check for any leaks under the car.
If there are none, Make sure the temperature stays below 90.

If these tests prove negative, The head gasket may have blown. This causes water to leak into the cylinders, and ends up as a steamy exhaust. There will be no visable leaks with this fault.

Remember to caap concentration of coolant/antifreze correct otherwise corrosion will start.

If this has helped you to a solution, please take a moment to rate as Fixya! Thanks.

This could be simple or complex!
You need to figure out where the coolant is going!

It could be a simple leak from under the car (ie. a hose is loose)

You could have coolant entering the engine combustion chamber. (bad) Check for smoke in exhaust.

Do you have a defective radiator cap? (never check on a warm engine).

I would recommend a pressure test by a trained mechanic, they should be able to pinpoint or narrow down the source of the leakage!

I have a 2005 model ford ka 1.3 l rocam motor.I need to fill the motor every day with water as it consumes water and over heats a lot,I have to add water daily, what could possible be the problem

Why would you use any vehicle that, first, overheats
& obviously looses coolant/water

That simply makes no sense & you know your going to
ruin the motor on any given day

The water has to go somewhere
SO--where would it go if it did not leak out

It goes into the cylinders & out the exhaust

Why--- a failed head gasket & on some motors, the
intake gaskets, depending on design

Dies sputters

How long ago did you have the engine tuned up? Could be that that the engine needs a tune up. If it was running fine and then all of a sudden it started running bad then it could be you purchased some gasoline with water in it. Don't buy gasoline if you see a gasoline tanker truck at the gas station and the tanks are being filled.. All that is happening is the gas going into the tanks is sturring up the dirt and debris in the tanks. Kind of like stirring kool-aid in a glass of water. Also worse is if the tanker truck is there and the tanks are being filled while its rainning or been raining all day with lot of nice water puddles were until the caps were removed to fill the tanks from the tanker and the water fell in the tanks. If its bad gasoline that is making your car run bad, you can buy an additive at the auto parts that you can pour in your gas tank to help burn the water out of the gas. Hope that all you need is the additive. Good luck.

did you let excess air out of radiator? after filling let it run for a few minutes with out radiator cap and make sure the water does not go down and serculates after thermostat opens, refill if needed
do you notice moister under vehicle in the morning ? possibly a gasket could be leaking.

Water drippinjg from above serpentine belt where lower radiaotor hose connects. water is not coming from hose coming from the silver piece

That is your thermostat gasket. Easy and cheap to replace. If you do it you might as well just buy a new thermostat since the cover will be off and they are cheap.

My car begins to overheat.the water level in the radiator is good , but the small tank on top of the engine needs filling daily , what is that tank for.

its a reservoir for the cooling system. Fill reservoir to fill line ONLY. Filling above this mark will cause the cooling system to push extra fluid out through overflow vent and when you look again, it may appear to be low when it's filled properly. If you still have to flill every day when you're filling to line only, you have a leak. Is your oil milky? if yes you have a gasket out someplace. Wet spots on ground? you have a leak someplace. sweet smell through exhaust? probally a head gasket out.

Where is the cooling fan relay located?

There is a big black box, above the radiaotor fan, under the panel called the "Integrated Control Relay Module" or "ICRM" the cooling fan relay is inside that box, you cant take it apart, if the relay is bad, you will need to replace the whole box, the dealer will need the number off your old one to get the correct part.

Car needs water re-filled everyday and in the oil it has a creamy colour substance which i have now noticed in where the oil dipstick is too

You need to change your water-pump before it gets your engine damaged. this is only a sign that the water-pump is bad wherein water misses with the oil.

Treat this fast.

rate this too.

Coolant temperature and water leaks

Hi

You need to have the cooling system pressure tested, this should point out the leak.

If no joy, a Carbon Monoxide test on the cooling system, if the fluid changes color, you have possible head gasket problem.

I suspect it will be either a Water hose, or Water pump ?

Good Luck !
