Sounds like the switch INSIDE the steering column has broken. The replacement switch is probably between 60 and 100 dollars. Expensive, I know, but worth the price of sanity over the long run. Should take about an hour to replace with the proper tools.

Could the flasher have a short? The switch appears to be in good condition

I suppose its possible. That's a pretty cheap part to purchase. You can always change it out and see if the problem persists....then if it DOES, you can get a switch and you know your flasher will be good!

Does the right signal come on if your put it on? If not your signal switch is probably busted. its a cheap part but a pain to fix.

Why my turn signal doesn't automatically shut down anymore?

Your turn signal switch is most probably faulty. You will need to replace it. Please, check the videos below. The first video shows a similar problem on a Renault Clio. The second one shows the operations to replace the turn signal switch. I think that the operations are quite similar in most modern cars. Good luck!

Replaced left/right signal arm and car still won't start

Seems that whoever fitted Left Turn Signal, might have messed up some wireing ! If your starting problems started after you had turn signal fitted, the tell Worksop / Dealer who did your repair. If you had problems starting before Turn Repair, then take to Garage for investigation

Turn signals not functioning properly

Please check the bulbs. These issues can happen if your bulb is burned out. Crazy if you have a bad bulb on both sides but still need to rule them out.

Turn signal win't shut off after the turn has been made

It should be a wiring problem/ fuse. Let an expert check for you. You might also take the car for diagnosis.

No turn signals or emergency blinkers

I had the same problem twice before. Solved it the same way both times. In my case it was the Hazard switch at the top of the steering column. It was stuck. I knew it was that because the signal lights had been functioning perfectly until I parked my car alongside the road with the hazard lights on to do some nighttime fishing and sip a little white lightnin'. (just kiddin' about the white lightnin')

When I got back in my car to go, I turned off the hazard lights but I had no turn signal lights! So I kept pushing that hazard button up and down for about 30 times with my left turn signal arm down until it started working again. So after having this happen to me twice, I learned a valuable lesson: Don't ever use hazard signals in this car.

1998 S90 Turn signal problem

I had the same problem with a 960. I checked the rear turn signal bulbs and they were okay. I took a look at the front left turn signal bulb and the two contacts on the bottom of the bulb had melted into one contact. If you remove the bulb, the turn signal will function again when the parking or headlights are turned on, but will flash fast since there is no bulb in the socket. You may also want to check the socket of the bulb to be sure that they are not shorted together.

Hope this works.
