Hello NDIrish... that light indicates that your car's computer now has an error code for you to look at and act upon. IF you have an AAMCO repair shop nearby, they now scan your car's computer for free. Some auto parts stores offer this service also. Call around. have your error codes read and also tell them when they are doing this to RESET your computer.

4 thumbs up please. ty. Joe

My emission light came on for a full day, now it's been off for two. What should I do?

Take it to your local autozone or advance auto and have them scan it(they do not charge). It is most likely just a sensor going bad.

I have approximately 73,000 miles on my 2005 VW jetta when my check engine light came on. What could the problem possibly be?

Honestly it could be anything, there are many reasons why the check light comes on. Best to take it to your dealer if still under warranty. Or your local mechanic if you have one you trust. Get them to run the diagnostic on the vehicle and see if it is something serious. Best not to drive it to much, most likely it will be in limp mode. Which means it has limited driveability.

the fuel is running back into the tank from a leaky check valve. try just turning key to on [no cranking] and off a couple of times to build up fuel pressure. if it starts ok after that then check valve is bad [its in the pump]

My 2004 Camry's VSC TRAC OFF lights just came on. The car has 73,000 miles and I've never had a problem with it.

A FAILING WHEEL SPEED SENSOR COULD TURN THE LIGHT ON AND OFF LIKE THAT. WORSE IF IT GETS WET.

Brake light is ON. Check Brake lining message is displayed. What would repair cost be in this case. This is X5 2002 with 73,000 miles.

this means you need brake pads and depending on where you bring it it will range from 80 dollars to 200 dollars for the front and the same around price if you need the rear. it will depend on what style brake pad and if you go for factory replacement it will be closer to the 200 dollar mark.

hope this helps. please ask any more question you have and good luck
