5w30 motor oil type of oil is recommended for dodge . I think you will need around 5 quarts .You can pick your own brand and type.It is recommended to change oil for around every 3000miles.

SOURCE: oil warning light goes on, but plenty of oil

An RED OIL LIGHT on your dash, means a LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE. Has nothing to do with HOW MUCH OIL IS ON THE DIPSTICK. Now , does it just flash for a couple of seconds, or is it on steady ? Is there any engine noise ? Hope this helps

What type of oil I used for a 1998 Dodge Caravan

Is this a trick question? I assume you meant what kind of oil Should you use? Any 5W30, 10W30, 10W40 will due. Check the owners manual to use manufactures recommendations tho.If someone ever used synthetic oil, you may want to stick with that.As far as Brand names of oil...Take your pick. I have only had one engine that blew up because of oil. And that was because there was none in the engine. Happy Shopping.

I have one plug on my 1998 dodge caravan that i cant find where it goes. i think it has to do with my instrument cluster not working does anyone know how i could figure out where it goes?

You might try going to a salvage yard and looking at another van.
It would be tough to figure it out just by the wire colors not knowing where the wires go. The same colors are used in different places.

1998 dodge caravan stalls with oil light on

I would stop driving it if I were you. Sounds to me like it might be the pump or a line that is clogged. New oil can break loose deposits in your motor and will end up in a oil pump pickup line, filter, or pump. And for your safety, here is a complete list of recalls on your vehicle. If your vehicle is affected by one or more of these recalls, then you may qualify for a free repair! http://www.internetautoguide.com/auto-recalls/09-int/1998/dodge/caravan/index.html
Have a nice day. And have someone check your van.

Replacing valve cover 3.0 1998 dodge carivan

For the 1998 Dodge Caravan 3.0L:
This is the same for all 1996 thru 2002 - 3.0L Engines

The Breather hose on the front cover goes from the Valve Cover to the Air Filter Casing.
The PCV hose on the rear cover goes from the Valve Cover to the Intake Manifold.
