Torque, also called moment or moment of force is the tendency of aforce to rotate an object about an axis,[1] fulcrum, or pivot. Just as a force is a push or a pull, a torque can be thought of as a twist.

Loosely speaking, torque is a measure of the turning force on an object such as a bolt or a flywheel. For example, pushing or pulling the handle of a wrench connected to a nut or bolt produces a torque (turning force) that loosens or tightens the nut or bolt.

Vacuum leaks in manifold means u got a broken VACUUM hose that helps your HYDRAVAC to boost ur BRAKiNG power! Just look at ur BRAKE MASTER and u will see at the rear, there is this BiG ROUND drum, hose/pipe is attached to it, follow that hose/pipe it will lead u to the iNTAKE MANiFOLD, where air/fuel was being sucked by the ENGINE PiSTON!

1997 Chevy Cavalier is backfiring and sputtering sometimes on take off or acceleration. Any ideas what the problem is? New fuel regulator, all new injectors, done alot to this car.

Here is a list of some things that can cause it,
Emmissions system not functioning properly,
Faulty secondary ignition system
Fuel injection system in need of adjustment
Vaccum leak at fuel injectors, around intake manifold, or vaccum hoses
Clogged fuel filter
Weak fuel pump
To test for a vaccum leak, get a can of starting fluid, with the engine running, spray around the intake manifold, the vaccum hoses, connections and fittings, where ever you spray and the engine rev's up a little, you found a leak.

Fuel not being delivered to the intake, I have replaced the frame fuel pump, filter and relay. If you pour gas in the intake it starts but only until it starves from gas

If you have pressure at the shrader valve on the fuel rail then check the regulator. Vaccum leaks can cause it to not work correctly or it is just deffective. If you have a vaccum tester, the see if you can draw a vaccum on the unit, if not then ther you go.

You have a vaccum leak. Look under your hood for a 1/4 inch black plastic line. It can be hooked into your filter intake housing. Usually this is where the leak is. There also is a black round plastic ball shape device under the hood. This usually has a vaccum line connected, you don't want any leaks there. Those are the easy fix suggestions for a vaccum leak. If you can't find it there, look for other vaccum operated items that are model specific. Hope that helps.

Running Lean

if the engine is still running lean, I would replace the Oxy sensor (s),
Then check for a vaccum leak, I found a very large leak on my intake manifold... there is a cap on a nipple on the engine side lower intake manifold (very difficult to get to) and I could not see it until I removed the intake and looked at it.
On my engine, this cap made of rubber was rotten and leaking vaccum.

This helped me 100%

96 3.0L taurus idles rough other wise runs fine. Head gasket was replaced 7000 miles ago

Intake gasket leak. Vaccum leak. Best way to find out is to put a vaccum guage on the intake and see if it steady at idle if not look for leaks. Map gas around the take from a torch will sometimes help you locate the leak. If there are multiple leaks it may not.
