SOURCE: Front Left Sway Bar Link

The front stabilizer shaft (sometimes called a sway bar) is mounted to the top rear of the frame and to the lower control arm. The shaft is attached to the frame with clamps and rubber insulators and to the control arms with insulator links.

SOURCE: sway bar bushing and links

It will allow extra sway which will alter your handling in the near future and in time will do damage to the rest of the suspension.

SOURCE: front and rear sway bar links are loose

I'm not sure if this problem is logged on Envoy allot or not but it makes seance that the manufacture would have thought of this when designing these suspension systems. They have only been doing this for several decades now. This sounds to me like a lazy mechanic. He did not want to take the time to install the lock washers on the bolts So to me this would most defiantly be a case of faulty workmanship. Hope this helps. Good luck.

What are swey bars on a ford focus

A sway bar is a suspension piece that keeps the left and right side of vehicle connected to help with turns. They are held together through sway bar links at each end, which are fairly common to break or rattle over bumps.

Install rear sway bar

a sway bar is usually u shaped and hooks to the body and the tops of the u hook to the axle with links that have bushings. most jeeps dont have a rear sway bar.the panhard bar is the rod that goes from one side of the axle to the body on the opposite side. its sometimes mistakenly called sway bar. it keeps the body from moving side to side around corners. then there are the torque bars they keep the axle from trying to rotate when accelerating.
none of this would be real expensive but if its been lifted a bunch then you may have problems

Rear shocks replacement?

i assume that this is a sl2 or a sc2 both have a rear sway bar and possibly have binding sway bar links. remove rear wheel and find link that goes from rear sway bar to strut and make sure it is able to pivot. if they are binding they make a lot of noise and need to be replaced
