Cadillac We have a Cadillac Escalade while driving on the interstate, 70 miles per hour, the engine just stopped. We had to coast onto the shoulder ,sit for a few minutes and then started it back up it, ran just fine for 250 miles, then it happened again same scenario. Thank you for your help! Jeri Lynne Petty

mine stopped yesterday going down the highway but unfortunately it wont turn over now,My problem is either a fuel pump relay, or the fuel pump, yours sounds like a fuel filter clogging up, and might need to be replaced.

Check and see if engine is overheating, if so it can be many causes.... Radiator, head gasket, leaks in coolant system...etc... maybe some kind of sensor also, or battery

I have a vibration at 70 miles per hour

if the wheel alignment is faulty ( castor wobble ) at 70 mph there is no way that you can describe it as a vibration as it virtually rip the steering wheel out of your hands. If it is a torque converter problem then at around 3850-4025 rpm stationary there will be a vibration of the vehicle and engine The sort of vibration that you are experiencing at 70 mph will come from a drive line problem. If rear wheel drive then it could be faulty "U" joints, worn slip joint or failed rear engine mount
If front wheel drive it may be cv joints or bent drive shafts, wheel bearings or brake callipers not moving freely on the mounting bolts.

Could be as simple as a brake sensor ( that is your anti-lock braking system it is tied into the traction control system ) Good luck it is a easy replacement part if that is what it is.

Knocking sound under floor board while driving

Hi,
Check your tires for uneven wear. Sounds like they are out of balance and causing the shock or other suspension part to bounce/bump the under side of the car.

I have a 2002 Escalade which vibrates after 60 mph until above 85 at which speed vibration stops. I have replaced shocks, struts, almost all front end suspension parts including rods and control arms. I...

Its possible you have a damaged wheel. A wheel could have been damaged/warped when the first set of tires were replaced. Spin balancing machines "balance" the tires at about 30 mph. Generally that covers things up to 60 or 70 mph on the road.
You may need to have the wheels checked with a gauge to see if any are warped or bent.
Make sure the vibration is not affected by engine torque or other factors. Does it matter if you are coasting at 70 mph or pulling, etc.
A miss-fire in the engine could be transported thru the passenger compartment and cause the same effect, but the check engine light should come on.
If the problem started right after the new tires, I would look at the wheels first.

Question about safety or car stabilty with no mechanical problems. I have a 2002 Escalade SUV with tow capabilities: I am thinking about towing a Volvo S70 over 2400 miles from Oregon to Dallas via west...

it should do it with no problem, use a tow dolly on the volvo or you will ruin the trans, or if all wheel drive volvo you will deed a flatbed trailer.

1995 k2500 Chevy truck engine runs rough some of the time?

I had a similar problem @105k. I had changed the fuel filter but it was still sending all kinds of codes that were related to 2 problems. Long story short, the main problem was a bad trigger assembly in the distributor (rough running) and the other was a loose engine to body ground (engine code issue). Good luck, this worked for me, now 171k.
