Just bolt it in and plug it in. Do you know anyone with a scanner that can set your pinion factor and do the relearn procedure on it after the install. The pinion factor will need to be set for your speedo to be exact and the shift points to be right. You can still drive it after the install if you don't set these.

You don't have to have a dealer do it. A local repair shop should be able to do it. You can install the TCM. Then just drive it to someone who can do this for you. You can save money by installing the part.

I replaced the TCM in my 2005 Chevy colbolt, light come on but car won't start, turn key and anti theft icon comes on but doesn't stay on

TCM ? transmission control module ? Did you have it programmed ? Reprogram the TCM. Refer to Control Module References for programming and setup information.
Transmission Control Module Programming and Setup
The transmission control module (TCM) must be programmed with the proper software/calibrations. Ensure that the following conditions exist in order to prepare for TCM programming:
• The battery is fully charged.
• The ignition switch is in the RUN position.
• The Techline equipment cable connection at the data link connector (DLC) is secure.
Program the TCM using the latest software matching the vehicle. Refer to up-to-date Techline equipment user instructions.
If the TCM fails to program, proceed as follows:
3.1. Ensure that the TCM connection is OK.
3.2. Inspect the Techline equipment for the latest software version.
3.3. Attempt to program the TCM. If the TCM still cannot be programmed properly, replace the TCM.

02 dodge neon Se got into a car accident and needed a new tcm my wires were all broken. Changed the tcm and rewired all the wires. All connected to write colors. Now my car won't start. Any suggestions....

The Tcm will have to be programed in accordance to dealer factory code. Each module has to be coded to the vin on the vehicle. There will be a key light or mode light that will stay on, on the dash board untill programed

I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport it is in limp mode. I have replaced the TCM, Speed sensors (3 times), and checked the ground strap. Once they replaced the last speed sensor seemed worse actually....

you don`t say if you ever had codes pulled from the tcm or if you installed a new tcm and not a used one.if a used one you may have a bad one.also you may have to have the tcm programed to your vehicle.if in limp in mode there possibly a problem internal to the transmission.you need to have it checked out a tranny shop that you trust or is recomended by several people.

Volvo S80 Faul code 000C

Hi there:
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-000C is stored if the control module detects that the vehicle speed and engine speed (RPM) signals do not correspond with the programmed values and that an "incorrect" gear is being used in relation to the calculated gear. This is because solenoid S2 is stuck in open or closed position.

Diagnostic Codes: 000C, 002A, 002B, P0733, P0734, P0756
Tests/Procedures:
1. Clear codes from the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
2. With fluid hot, check transmission fluid for quality and level.
3. Test drive the vehicle. Accelerate from 20-60 MPH when in geartronic mode, gear 4. While doing this, watch input and output speed sensors with a scan tool.
4. If the code returns, the transmission is slipping, and the input and output speed sensors are updating, the problem is internal to the transmission.
5. If transmission is replaced, test ATF for coolant contamination per TNN 43-48. Replace radiator if necessary.

Potential Causes: Transmission Mechanical Problem

Tech Tips:
TCM-002B 4th gear. Incorrect gear ratio. This code sets when the actual gear ratio deviates by more than 10% of what is programmed into the TCM.
TCM-002A 3rd gear. Incorrect gear ratio P0756 - TCM-000C - Shift solenoid S2, hydraulic malfunction If the transmission is replaced, be sure the mating surfaces between the engine and transmission are bare metal and clean. If not, the engine may not start after assembly.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.
