Do you really need to change the door hinge or did the hinge pull out of the base metal on the body. More than likely the hinge is pulling out of the base metal. If so there are 2 different repair kits that are available through the Chrysler dealer. One kit is for when the hing welds are slightly ripped out and the other is for seriously ripped out. Probably less than $10.00 per hinge for either one. No welding required, bolt on. You will need a torx socket of the correct size to install.

How do I replace the driver side hood hinge? 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The hinges are held together with two top, and two bottom, 10 millimeter bolts. (At the pivot point) However, one half of the hinge is welded to the pillar, the other half to the door. That being said...The bolts can be removed to take the door off. BUT, in order to go any further: the hinges will have to be cut and welded. So I guess the answer your looking for is. Take the door off, unplug the wires, cut and weld the half necessary to repair the deficiency

How to fix a door on a 94 jeep cherokee. its broke off the hing on top and idk how to fix other thn weld it but it keeps breaking off help please. thanks.

The right way to fix that really is to weld a steel plate inside the pillar. it is complicated and if you don't know what you are doing you can start a fire.
Likely you could do something similar using tulip head bolts on the exterior part and drawing the original metal into pre-drilled and countersunk holes in the plate. (plate should be no less than 1/4" thick.
Likely that would give you some degree of structural strength. and a solid mount to attach the hinge to.
There must be a design flaw in those door posts as I've seen too many tear off. Most I've seen have been repaired at good body shops and have lasted a long time after the repair.
Good luck with it whichever way you decide upon!

How to change door hinge pins

Most can be driven out with a drift pin from the bottom. After you remove them, check the holes in the hinges for wear...there are bushing kits available if they are worn. Have someone support the door during removal. best is also to have a floor jack under the edge of the door (protected with a piece of rug etc). for added support and control.

Door hinges breaking off my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado

The only correct way to repair that is to remove the door and have reinforcement plates welded into the inside. Otherwise, best option is to get another one from a scrapyard.

94 cherokee

It depends.. I use wd40 on my car a lot - to slow down decay :-) Also buying those non-toxic oil from Canadian tire - in green spray can - forgot the name... Try to use rust converter ( spray), then paint over using spray paint ( use some plastic steel if needed for patching before spraying paint). My car have many spots everywhere on all edges - all doors/hood. :-) I wait for dry summer days to repair it.

Good luck

94 jeep cherokee door troubles

from the late 80's to the 90's jeep cherokees have a known problem with there front door hinges. the first time i seen this on a jeep i thought it was a fluke but now owning a 93 cherokee i am goin through the same problem... most of the time its not the door pins (i am not saying this is not what is wrong with yours, but for the most part it is not the pins). on the inside of the sheet metal, where the door hinges are welded onto, tend to rust/wear out and cause up and down play in the top door hinge. the only way to fix it is to take the door off and reweld a new brace or support underneath the sheet metal, and the weld the door back into place... my jeep is goin threw this process right now... but if you dont fix the door soon it will acually rip the top door hinge out of place, allowing the door to almost touch the ground when opened.
