It would ask for a code. Sounds like a blown fuse. You actually have 2 fuses that run the radio, one that is listed as Radio, and one that has a constant voltage on it. Look at Cigar lighter, or dome light, or some other fuse that would always have power on it.
sometimes not all of the time the radio and lighter r on the same fuse change radio fuse first, if it doesnt fix probelm look for lighter fuse, usually its the radio fuse itself
Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya This is the normal fuse for the radio but if yours has been changed out it may be different normally the fuse will look like this
I have the same problem with my 96 camaro. I checked the fuses box and the radio, windows and IP dimmer fuses don't have power. More likely is a short in the motor of one of the windows.
Check if they have a common fuse and change it if necessary. Is there only a head unit or a more serious audio? Actually the problem might be beyond fuse anyways, but the best way to know is to change it and see if it reoccurs in a short time.
