1998 Lincoln Continental air ride problems I was told by a mechanic that by air ride computer was bad. I took it in and the mechanic put a diagnostic machine on the car and he overrode the air ride computer and the car raised to proper level it has lasted 6 months and now the rear air bags are are starting to lose air. Is this possible. If so were do I find this air ride computer.

Yes its the air bag module that's bad because he over rode the system the bags are not getting any air from the pump and are slowly deflating.

I have a 01 Lincoln Continental just about every time I put weight from bk seat to the trunk it dumps the air and wont pump up not all the time but enough to be very annoying

There is a diagnostic port that some of the better scanners can use to read the air suspension. It is the cheapest way because you only replace the bad component. The air suspension is designed to let the air out when you either open a door and/or open the trunk. It is attempting to lower the car to make the loading of the trunk and passengers easier. The height levelers are then suppose to recover the ride height and straighten the body to ride level..

Speedometer light only is very dim on the dash of 1994 Lincoln Continental?

This isn't the kind of problem that can be easily (and cheaply) fixed in ten minutes, in your own garage. Has a Lincoln dealer/mechanic looked at it yet? It might be worth it to pay their diagnostic fee, just to find out if it CAN be fixed...and a ballpark figure on what it's gonna cost! Sometimes when these digital displays go bad, the only thing you can do is replace them--but where do you find a good one? When the driver's side electric window regulator on my Continental went bad, the dealer had no access to a 'new' one--they told me to find a used one at a junkyard!

Can i put coil springs from a 1995 taurus onto a 1995 continental

No. they are different platforms and could result in a serious accident. they make conversion kits to eliminate the air ride suspension and are designed specifically for this particular car.

My 1996 linc. continental won't pump the front air bags. only the back

sounds like the sensors for the front wheels are not reading correctly. Try unhooking the battery and leaving it off for a while. Then retry, you can also try to get the air ride computer into diagnostic mode. www.lincolnsonline.com
