2002 Dodge Carvan 3.3 liter was traveling 75 mph when car seemed to start coasting, no increase in speed with more RPM. Managed to get out of traffic but car will not move forward or reverse. Check engine codes show P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid, P0734 Gear 4 Incorrect ratio and P0700 Transmission Controll System MIL required. Car has 151,000 miles and I am questioning whether I can justify major transmission rerpair. Could this be a minor problem or a major repair require transmission rebuild?
Having owned a trans shop in the 1990's,I would get ride of it
80% of my work, was Caravans transaxles.
Very unsafe vehicle,in the event of an accident, all van type vehicles are.

Shear coincidence. You have a transmission problem. Doing 60 MPH your RPM's should be around 2000, Usually a little less. One of you has a heavier foot than the other.
first try using redexe fuel additive (a full bottle to 5gallons)to clean injectors/fuel pump.
your car has a fuel cutoff valve, saves fuel when coasting(over 1800 revs,if you put car in nuetral going down hill you use fuel,so you are wasting fuel in neutral.but you have read the handbook cos it tells you in there.......
That is normal,If you do the same speed in 4th gear the rpm's will almost double.
The rpm's will repond faster in a manual than an automatic.
In a manual the engine supplies the power required directly to the gear that you have selected thus the engine rpm's will increase or decrease as needed.
This happen to me too. Had to get it replaced under my exstended warrenty that cost me the $200 deductable but would of coast over $400 if this happened later.
