Question about 1994 Honda Accord
Please tell me how to:
deactivate the airbag
so I can take a ten year old girl with me in the front seat.
I've spent over an hour trying to find a good answer for you, but it appears that Honda had not yet made the passenger side airbag disable keyed switch a feature in the 1994 models.
I have downloaded a .pdf copy of the '94 Accord shop manual, and I'd be happy to send you a copy as an e-mail attachment; it has a very thorough section on the "Supplemental Restraint System" (SRS), in addition to service poop on every other aspect of the '94 model...
Send me an e-mail at email@example.com and (once I have your e-mail address) I'll send this back to you as an attachment. This way you don't have to publish your e-mail on a public forum, and I WILL respect your privacy.
Renee, there are ways to disable the passenger side airbag, but liability concerns prohibit me from giving you that information in this forum. Federal laws in play here, the same ones that won't allow me to tell you how to modify or bypass the emission systems. If Honda didn't design it that way, I can't legally tell you how to modify it --- $10,000.00 fine plus possible criminal charges!!!
HOWEVER... Once I hear from you privately, I'll draw up a little waiver agreement / release, and we'll get you fixed up! It is a crying shame that our world has come to this --- hard to do the RIGHT THING for fear of prosecution --- and I do understand your concerns, and have great respect for your sense of responsibility and personal integrity. Kudos to you, my lady!
Please feel free to check out my bona fides and read some of my solutions and reviews, and you will see I am who I say I am!
There are a lot of "posers" out there these days!
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post here -= I'll be notified, and I look forward to hearing from you!
