Sounds like a control module problem, I would be getting it diagnosed at least at the dealer they have the latest equipment and ask them first how much to diagnose. A lot of control modules need to be programmed when fitted so don't waste your time with a local guy who won't have the correct equipment.

If brake pedal is chattering or pulsating it is most likely because you need either front or rear rotors, or both. They are rusted or out of round. If there is something wrong with either your abs or traction control, the abs or traction control light will come on & stay on. As soon as these lights come on, it automatically disables abs or traction control. If you would like to take out fuse that disables abs or traction control circuits, it will leave the lights on.You just wont have their functions. If by some strange condition your chattering goes away, then there is indeed something wrong with your abs or traction control.Fuses are labeled abs or traction either under hood or in your fuse panel in car.
If the ABS (and likely the traction control) light came on at the same time that the speedometer stopped working, you likely have a faulty wheel speed sensor at the right rear wheel. You can test this by swapping the two rear wheel speed sensors (ABS sensors). If the speedometer then works (but the ABS & Traction control lights stay on), replace the sensor that is now at the left rear (was at the right rear). If no change, you may have a fault in the ABS & Traction control - control unit.
Hi there.Whats happening here is an abs sensor in the wheel has failed. In doing so it will turn off your traction control because your abs breaks and traction control work together .If maybe you have an auto zone near by they can scan your break system to find what abs sensor is causing the problem.I hope this clarified some for ya..Auto zone will scan the car for free so that won't cost you anything. You can drive the car you just wont have abs and you should get it fixed.Again I hoped I helped you and if you need further assistance I'll be here to help you..Have a great day..
hello , it sounds like you have a bad speed sensor or all 4 of them , see when the speedo plays dead like that is because (most cases ) the sensors at the wheels are bad due to water and normal driving corrosion , the data for the speedo comes from the abs module that monitors the sensors if the abs does not reed it the speedo will not reed it aswell , it will be good to scan the vehicle to see if you need more than 1 sensor there is one in each tire axel ,good luck
does not sound correct your sidewalls will be off if you want to know what to use on your car as suggested by BMW that works with your ABS and traction control systems look on the drivers door jamb or the door itself there is a list of approved tire sizes and pressures
