Question about 2007 Honda CR-V

1 Answer

My VSA and ABS lights came after an overnight garaging and have stayed on. Honda tell me that it will cost me £1500 to replace sensors and modulator. The car is four months out of warranty. On the Auto forum site there are eight pages of similar troubles. Is Honda paying the bill or is anybody considering a class action against Honda and Bosch?

Hi sounds like just an ABS sensor, get it checked at your dealer but do insist that they clean it and not just replace it, the code machine will tell you which one it is, normally a front sensor, they fit into the brake caliper. very common fault but like I said make sure you ask them to clean it, they like to change parts like this and charge you for nothing so be careful who does the work

max cost if you do need a new one is about £90 although you can get them cheaper.

Regards
Dan

Vsa,abs, and brake all work off of the same sensor. You have a problem with one of the following system. Vsa vehicle stability assist, abs anti lock brakes, or the brakes themselves. My guess is either the abs or vsa

2007 honda accord. VSA and ABS lights stay lit when the car is on. lights do not blink and the switch to turn on VSA doesn't do anything when pressed now.

VSA and ABS use anti-lock brake sensors to complete the calculation.

The first thing to check is to make sure all 4 of the ABS sensors are clean.

Go to your local car wash and clean the wheels first.
KEY OFF / then reconnect the VSA sensor.

Pull the OBDII and email it to me.

Vsa indicator light stays on after installing wheel bearing

Hello there
First of all, with the VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) light showing on the dash (marked VSA) it means that particular system has a problem or the push on/off switch located on the lower left portion of the dashboard and above the drivers left knee, has been pushed, turning that system off.

If you push the VSA button and the dash lamp goes out, then you're all set.
If the lamp remains on, you need to have the system checked by your Honda dealer or an independant shop who is experienced and knowledgable regarding this Honda system.

I hope this information is of assistance to you,

Why is the Vsa and abs staying on in 2005 honda crv?

Hi did you check your tire pressures and brake fluid level? That would be where I would start to look. If you have changed your tires or adjusted your tires you may need to reset your VSA.
Else you may have a speed sensor issue.
