I have replaced 3 disc brake calipers on my 2001 pt cruiser. after bleeding all 4 brakes 3 times, I started the car and brake pedal goes to floor. is my brake booster shot?

Michael:

You must start bleeding the brakes at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (usually the right rear), then the next farthest from the master cylinder, then the next, then the closest. If your master cylinder is at the left front of the car, start with the right rear, then the left rear, then the right front, then the left front. If you don't bleed the brakes in the correct order, you are just shifting the air in the lines from one line to another. Make sure that you close the bleeder before letting the brake pedal up, and the engine should not be running when you bleed the brakes... Make sure that the emergency brake is off. Make sure that the master cylinder does not run out of brake fluid at any time that you are bleeding the brakes.

Right rear brakes keeps messing up on a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus, we keep buying new right rear brakes about every two months or less. Can you help us out?

You have to make sure the brake system is operating properly.Change both rear brakes it sounds like the left rear brake side is not working making the right side wear out so quick. After changing the back brakes bleed them making sure you have no air in your brake lines.start bleeding them from the left rear to the right rear to the left front to right front to master cylinder.

After putting on new calipers on both sides of my dodge ram 2005 1500 and bled brakes I have no brakes. What is the problem they worked fine until I did the caliper and brake

Did you bleed rear brakes also? Should do all 4 whenever bleeding brakes starting w/ right rear, left rear, right front then left front. Sounds like air in lines.

I replaced all 4 brakes on my 98 chevy malibu. for some reason i am not getting pressure back. but am being told i dont need to bleed the brakes. should i anyway. or could the adjusted on the rear drums...

Both air in the brake lines and rear drums too far out of adjustment will cause the pedal to go to the floor repeatedly.

Bleed from the wheel that's farthest away from the master cylinder first, typically driver's side rear. Then bleed the others, ending with the one that's closest to the master cylinder. Generally, right rear, left rear, right front, left front.

Adjust the rear brakes until you hear them rub a bit as you turn the wheel, then back off a couple of notches. Be sure to use the brakes when backing up at first, let them adjust themselves up to where they should be.

How do I get the rear brake cylinder depress back in when putting on new brakes.

If it does not push back with a c-clamp,then it will turn to go back in,the right side, and the left side will turn either left,or right hand to go back in,depending on witch side you are working on.

1994 Jimmy - Rear brakes are dominating after brake job

You need to bleed the whole system. Once this is done it should work better. Make sure you are not low on brake fluid. If the front brakes are disk brakes and the rear are drum breaks, the front really does most of the stopping, the back jjust keeps the car from spinning or swaying. But the main stopping power is in the front breaks. They need to be bled correctly, make sure brake fluid is up and make sure emergency break is not engaged. The emergency break uses a lever and cable to activate the rear brakes. The emergency breaks don't run off brake fluid...

please give good ratings, they are very important...

04 Focus SVT- All brakes will bleed out except the right rear..??

Have somone help you as you bleed the brakes. Have them pump the pedal 3 times and hold the pedal down with constant pressure while you crack the bleed valve open to the problem caliper. Don't let them release the pedal until you have closed the bleeder valve. Continue this process until you have fluid coming out without air. Periodacillay check the master cylinder to be sure it remains full enough so as not to allow more air in because the resivouir ran to low during the bleeding process. If when you are done and the brake light continues to be on then you will need to bleed the proportioning valve until the system balances out on line pressure.
If this works can you please give me a rating??? Thank you.

Frontend problem

that sounds like the pressure regulator of your brakes is broken. The pressure does not release from the left side.
Unless it is the calliper, but i think you already checked that out. Pressure regulator is the main cause for problems like this.
It regulates pressure between back and front side
