On the bottom of the radiator, on the inner side, there is a plug called a petcock. It is black and has a little knob to turn. Then the coolant comes out of the little spout on the bottom of the petcock. You turn the knob counter-clockwise and it will let out the coolant.

Vw beetle battery is good but something is draining it. sos help

The standard procedure is to disconnect the negative cable and use a test light or meter to measure voltage.
A test light between the battery post and ground will light up until the drain is knocked out.
You disconnect each fuse and cable until you find the drain.

Have a 1999 vw beetle, the water pump was replaced and the timing belt and serpentine belt. When we turned car on to drive all the anti freeze drained out. Where would it be draining from?

Hello,
There are several places it could be leaking out from. It could be come from a hose that was not properly tightned or from a gasket that was damaged or improperly torqued down. Is the coolant leaking externally or internally?

Something draining battery on 2000 VW Beetle Turbo

If you are sure you have a key off battery drain, what you need to do is connect an ammeter to the negative side of the battery(disconnect the negative battery cable and connect one side of the ammeter to the battery terminal and one side to the and one side to the battery cable) note the reading and start pulling fuses one at a time making sure to put them back in their proper slot when the reading an the ammeter goes down to normal the short will be on the circuit of the fuse you have pulled if any part of these instructions is too difficult have the problem checked by a dealer

What is the proper way to drain the cooling system and what is the cooling system capacity of a 2004 VW Jetta TDI?

The capacity is 2- 2.5 gallons of coolant.
I would drain the cooling system from the radiator drain plug.

I would follow the owners manual for the instruction and fluid levels.
