Have them turned off with a obd-ll scanner. if you do not have one, then any auto parts store will turn the light off for free. auto zone, etc.

you must not clear codes or unhook battery after doing what they call a drive cycle which resets monitors to a ready state. http://www.lhforums.net/forums/showthread.php?2755-OBD-II-and-your-Next-State-Inspection

1999 Mazda B2500 won't pass inspection

Generally speaking, the not ready issue means the truck has not been driven enough since the battery was disconnected or the codes were cleared to have a new history. The cycle drive needs to include about 50-100 miles of both city and highway driving with the engine at normal operating temp. The distance does not have to be done in one trip.

Failed emissino test again says the oxygen and catalytic are not ready what do i do i only need one to pass?

I had similar problem with not ready after clearing a check engine code for cylinder 5 code. I had to drive another 400 miles before code changed from not ready to ok. Just drive and periodically go to inspection to get it checked. It will clear up after driving enough miles.

I cannot inspect my car because it reads is not ready yet. I used a actron code reader and I had one code that turn out to be the ox sensor by cat. I changed it. When I went back to autozone to get codes...

Basically take the car for a long drive .
Stop off get gas , drive to a shopping center( need a few on/ off starts). Few hard braking , few not so hard braking. reverse when possible . Gotta figure about 30- 50 miles of driving.

Emision control does not pass inspection, vaporative system, and secondary air system not ready.

has the battery been disconnected, drained, or computer codes been cleared? all of these will erase readiness monitors in the computer and will have to be driven to reset it's hard to say how far because it varies on different vehicles

Obd not ready won't pass inspection

It usually takes more than one drive cycle to clear all monitors to "ready".The vehicle may take multiple "from cold" drive cycles and hundreds of miles to clear all.Drive normally with varied driving and include long coasting down stops.Buy a cheap scan tool ($35) and check monitors as you drive.
DO NOT CLEAR CODES or run the battery dead or you will have to start over!
