1999 blazer only starts when primed and then wont start after sitting

Black smoke is usually extra fuel, but you say you are priming it to start so that could be why.
Have you checked fuel pump pressure before and after cranking ?

05 ford five hundred wont turn over thinking its the fuel pump or maybe the relay

try banging on the fuel tank sometimes that could make the fuel pump work for a bit, you cant 100 percent rule out a bad fuel pump;you may have a better idea if it starts. good luck

98 gmc jimmy decided not to start after sitting in the cold for a couple days.its trying but not getting gas.I seemed to have run low on fuel so I topped it up but killed the battery tryn to start it. then...

Most likely its the fuel pump on this vehicle they last 10 to 12 years at best and when you ran it that low on gas that finished it off the gas cools the moveing parts in the pump motor. But don't feel bad it would have went anyway and you could have to had it towed. Chevy had some problem with this pump and the whole fuel system disign wholes in there tanks fuel line rusting out wireing problems to the pump. But there a lot of upgrades to the new ones that fix these problems. You could try replaceing the fuel filter its under the drivers door mounted to the frame rail but i know these vehicles and fix this problem to many times. And you should know its not cheap depending on what needs to be replaced the fuel pump is inside the fuel tank and that needs to come out. Well sorry for the gloom and doom but its the reality of owening this vehicle all i can do is wish you luck

Its been sitting and won't start... I thought it was the battery, so I got a new one.. it will turn over but won't start up.. all the electronics work

first check the fuel level, even if not too low. If was sitting for long add some NEW fuel, add a lot. also try to just turn the egnition on a few times as fuel pump needs to deliver fuel prior to start.
