Toyota owners facing similar problems in Delhi/Gurgaon can try 9M automobiles in Gurgaon (near/ opposite Maruti Factory) for quick and inexpensive repair of their cars. I tried, and found the guys are more helpful than the ones at Toyota.

The dimming, is the result of the current draw to the window motor, that is not turning, due to having failed or the window regulator binding it up.
Remove the interior panel to access the regulator and motor
I would try to repair myself first.
That is not a job the pros like or do well.
You will pay them, and they will not replace the problem part, just get it going for a week, and take your money

It's the motor. If the motor turns at all, the switch is good. Make sure the glass is not binding in the track. If it works with a little help, replace the motor.

I have a 1997 Ford escort. The drivers side electric window has ceased working. Passenger side ok. What is the possible solution please

The window regulator has failed or the wiring to it or the switch is defective for the window. If the switch is ok you should see the dome light dim slightly when the window switch is operated with the door open to keep the light on, better to do this at night. If the interior lights dims a tiny bit then the motor is defective and you will need to replace the window regulator.

Passenger window won't go up

When you press the window switch button for the passenger door window turn on the dome light at the same time, carefully watch if the dome light dims slightly, this means the switch is ok and the passenger window electric lift motor is defective. You can also try stricking the bottom of the door while holding the switch down, this may cause the window motor brushes to unstick and the window will work for awhile again.

My passenger side rear window will not go down or up when the button is pressed (driver door or its own button) nothing is heard. Where is the fuse for this? 2007 Corolla CE, all of the other windows work.

no problem on fuse............... check your power window switch, if not work on main and secondary switch, check power window ,remove the switch on passenger side, try to activate the motor by touching wire to battery, take the two wires, brown stripe red and brown stripe white, you will now know the problem

My power window to my toyota tundra (2002)passenger window does not move up/down. Press switch, and no sound, no movement. what can I do to restore power?

try using the window switch on the pass side and drivers side. is the master turned on to allow the pass switch on? try closing the pass door while holding the switch in the DOWN position, sometimes this will jar the window loose. If you watch the dome light real closely while pushing the window switch down, it should dim slightly, it it does dim, then the switch is working.

Passenger window motor shows no sign of life. Dome light dims slightly when window switch is engaged.

Looks as thought your geting power to the switch and motor thats why it dims the light, sounds like the window motor is tied up.

2001 silverado passenger window will not go down

a very quick test to determine if the window motor or the window control switch is defective is this,( this works best in a shaded area) turn on the dome light, press the window up/down switch, if the dome light slightly dims then the window motor is bad, if not the switch is defective and or has no power to it.

Power Windows stop, and then move a little after waiting about 60

Sounds like it could be your switch going out. Does the rear switch give you the same problem? If not, then I would suggest you go to a junk yard and find one to replace the front one, even then they range in price from $35-60. A new one from the dealer is best but more costly. Good luck hope it helps.

Look to see if the window lockout button on the driver side door window master switch panel is depressed. If so, the other 3 windows do not operate. this is one of their child-proof thingys.
