Question about Mitsubishi Cargo
Please give me an idea what is the correct timing mark of a 4m40 engine.
The marks should be on the crankshaft all you need to do is line it up

Not sure which timing marks you are after.
For the camshaft - there is a mark on the camshaft pulley, and a mark on the crankshaft pulley, on the timing chain, there are two colored links, position the two links on the two pulley marks, with #1 cylinder at TDC and the small square lug in the centerish of the cam shaft pointing upward.
Injection pump timing, well that is quite a different dance, and requires a special tool which screws into the back of the injection pump, and uses the data on the underside of the bonnet, for example 10deg ATDC 1mm. The tab behind the crankshaft pulley, the first edge is TDC, when the square cam shaft nob is upward, the trailing edge is 10deg ATDC. The dial test indicator screwed into the (screw removed from) back of the fuel injection pump, is set to zero BTDC, and at 10deg ATDC it should show 1mm movement in the pump, else the pump gets rotated to adjust (two nuts at front of pump, one almost inaccessible and don't forget the two bolts hidden under the back of the pump.
