How to bleed abs brakes when air is in master cylinder

Abs brakes have to be bled in the order the manual states, you will need a power bleeder then follow instructions in the manual. it is the abs cylinder that is hard to get the air out of, imposable if the instructions are not followed .

Soft pedal on 03 grand caravan

Have you driven it since the brakes where replaced?

Did you bleed all four wheels?

have you "broken in" the new pads?

Are the rears drum or disk? If drum are they adjusted correctly?

are you using remanufactured master cylinders? If so keep replacing them. eventually you will get one that works. New is pricey but a better way to go.

Did you bench bleed the MC before installing it? If not, that's the problem. MUST be bench bled or you'll always have air. If brakes lights are on, the brake switch is out of adjustment OR (since you replaced the MC), the push rod is out of adjustment

Good question, on the antilock system is a bleader too and bleade it the same way you bleade the caliper. After all is done adjust the rear brakes, they should have a drag to them.

My brake light stays on and no brakes. replaced brakes, bled, replaced line, bled..works for a day or so and then brakelight comes on and no brakes again..what could be making this happen????

Check the master cylinder and if it's low again, check system for leaks...likely you have another you didn't see...Also check the rear of the master itself for seepage. If you can pump the brake and get the pressure back but it then sinks down while holding moderate pressure on it, the cylinder itself is bypassing.
