Although the light doesn't stay on and the abs still works does not meen its nothing.
Its not a big deal but there is a fault code stored in it. The only way to know what it is it to have it checked next time u have it in a shop
Not a big deal no but make sure to tell ur mechanic to check it because the light shouldn't blink or stay on at all. U will have they system self check when u start ur care and some do when u drive. Aproxomatly 10 to 15 feet ,u hear the pump kick on for about a second. If the light is still on there is a fault loged. May be nothing but a sensor lost signal for a second but its still worth checking.
Hope this help explain it a little better
Its the same with ur check engine light. If it comes on then goes out. There is a code loged. But not high priority. If the light stays on there's a high priority code.

Tip

All Cars ABS light on

For those of you that have abs brakes if the brake light comes on what happens Is it goes into standard brake mode. This means that the brakes lock up as if they had no abs system so if you jam the brake pedal down the wheels will stop spinning. If you are in wet weather or on ice it could cause a skid and cause you not to turn while slamming on the brakes. So if you have the ABS light on you need to have them checked but does not mean you have to take it to the shop right then it can be later, be aware that extended use without the ABS being serviced could cause damage to the ABS system. Most ABS lights are caused by a dirty magnetic ring on one wheel, on rear wheel drive cars it could be the one on the end of the transmission or the front of the differential. These put out 2.5 volts dc to test use Digital meter put it on 5 volts dc and spin the wheel with the connector disconnected probe the ring connector to see if yo have 2.5 volts if not it has a broken ring or wire, if the magnetic ring is broken it will have to be replaced. Most models have to have the rotor replaced on the front end and the sensor on the rear end.

Abs vdc and slip light

I think a trip to the nissan dealer may be needed. The Slip and VDC sytem is tied into the anti-lock brake system. Could be as simple as a vacuum leak or a bad check valve at the brake booster, or the ABS system could be malfunctioning.

Try checking the brake pedal limit switch located at the top of the pedal.I have a 2006 Kia sportage and the switch came loose causing the esc light to com on and the brake lights to saty on. this may not be your problem but, I hope it helps.

Abs light has been on for 2 years & ABS does not work. Wet roads yesterday and light went out and the ABS worked. Can I fix it?

Yes you may fix it. You probably have a problem with a speed sensor. This sensor is used to determine wheel speed for the abs controller. The wet weather may have cleaned the sensor off enough to start working again. It is easier to repair if you get the code that was turning on the abs light and it will tell you what sensor is causing the problem. then you should be able to fix it yourself. chances are the light will be back.

the crank pulleys (also called a harmonic dampener) on these vehicle are a fairly common failure. as they begin to break apart, the pulley will begin to have a wobble as the engine runs, causing the drive belts that power your alternator, power steering, etc to loosen off. when the belts then get wet, combined with being loose, they will slip, causing your accessories not to work. hope this was helpful!

Very probably a leaking exhaust. Its probably the joint between the manifold and the exhaust system. The ABS issue is probably a red herring.

Note. Get it checked out as that smell contains a lot of Carbon Monoxide and could cause you to pass out and die. Serious stuff!

Traction system

Hi there.Whats happening here is an abs sensor in the wheel has failed. In doing so it will turn off your traction control because your abs breaks and traction control work together .If maybe you have an auto zone near by they can scan your break system to find what abs sensor is causing the problem.I hope this clarified some for ya..Auto zone will scan the car for free so that won't cost you anything. You can drive the car you just wont have abs and you should get it fixed.Again I hoped I helped you and if you need further assistance I'll be here to help you..Have a great day..

Brake and ABS light on

this could just be the car running a diagnostic check on itself and because you are turning it off then straight on there is a delay, also another problem could be there is an abs sensor located near the brakes, sometimes dust or break powder can get built up and lodged in and around it causing the sensor to give a false reading to the dash triggering the light.
