Question about 2000 Ford F150 Flareside SuperCab
The hood switch should have produced an error of some kind ( at the very least flash the parking lamps ).
The hood switch is to ground, if you meter ( ohms or continuity ) from ground to the wire leaving the hood switch one direction you should have an open the other you should have < 100 ohms ).
I suspect the hood switch is OK, if the hood is open the OEM remote start would honk the horn 2 times.
If when you press the remote start, the ignition turns on then off ( cluster powers up ) check the Violet & Violet w/ red stripe wires to make sure they are still connected. and the A-4 & B-2 wires ( on the RMST unit ) that they have + VDC.
Did the unit operate correctly at one time ?
- Just verifying it is not a programming issue with it.
