hello thanks shanat the only real problem was that the clutch pedal was way to hard to push and shifting the gears was never a problem before. my girlfriend said her heard a noise when she shifted out of 5th gear to make a stop, and said when she tryed for 1st gear it was a little hard to get into. then after driving. i have bought a new clutch cable and well get it tomorrow. question could the clutch fork also be some of the problem in the pedal being hard to push if the cable doesnt fix it??

Check you gearbox has enough oil in it, also if its a cable adjust the cable, if its fluid try bleeding the clutch
what symptoms did you have before replacing the clutch?
if you had problems selecting gears the problem may be in the box itself. with more info i can try to assist you further

just cross your fingers that its not the clutch fork cause you would have to pull the box out again but if it had a bad cable that should be the end of your probs

    good luck

if you need further assistance let me know

ps also make sure your gearbox oil is full

if it is in 4 low it will lug also in 4 high if excessive u-joints could be dry and binding or just needs to be ran in 4 wheel for a few miles to lube everything up bearings gears front axle etc... be sure transfer case is full and differentials are full also you need to have same size tires all the way around.

1997 geo tracker no drive but have reverse ,3 speed automatic

You may try putting the trans in 2 or 1, if this doesn't give you any movement check trans fluid levels hot on a level surface. If levels are correct your trans is probably bad.

Took over a 95 geo tracker project car. alot of mhands in there before me. haveing problems with the clutch cable linkage under the dash. either somethings missing or has wrong parts on it. do you have a...

the cable just hooks over the top of the clutch pedal.
Google Clutch cable and you will get an automotive site.
Select Tracker and you should pull up a picture.
There is very little to it.
The cable comes through the firewall and hooks on the top of the clutch pedal.
Hope that helps

Four wheel drive will not work on 1995 geo tracker

You need to take the cover off your hub and clean and grease the lock ring. It is attached to the spring. It sounds as though your hub is rusted open.
