Question about Land Rover Discovery

Open Question

My problem is the Active Cornering Enhancement on my 2002 TD5 ES. Either the Amber or Red warning lights are permanently on. There is no noticable change in the characteristics of the car since this happened whilst in France in September, and I have since travelled 1200 miles since. When switching on the ignition, both amber and red warning temporally come on, extinguish , and then one or the other comes on when the engine has run for a few seconds. The hydraulic fluid levels are correct and show no sign of any leaks, and circulation of the fluid can be seen in the tank when engine is running, which I assume means the "pump" is functioning. Any advice would be welcome to correct my problem.

SOURCE: dashboard red lights

I had the sames problems and was told it was my abs module. Mine was making a noise when I went over bumps on the left front. We replaced the rubber bushing on top of the strut spring and have driven 2500 miles and no lights have come on. This part was only $25.oo plus $45.00 labor to replace it..

SOURCE: My 55 Kia sedona my red brake warning light comes

First I would check the brake fluid level to make sure there is enough in it.Most of all It seems you have a major problem with the the ABS system which turns on the brake light as well as the ABS light.Chances are you have a couple of wheel sensors that have gone bad.Do you hear a wrrrrrr sound that increases and decreases as you go faster and slower while your driving?

The red light is for warning the amber is for caution so your caution light is on thats the amber the amber is reserved for local market like brake pads, oil change,or abs that affects steering stability, The information is exclusive only your driver handbook will define it

Some Series II Discoveries has the ACE(Active Cornering Enhancement) option which had an additional hydraulic belt drivem pump, these cars require a larger belt. It is likely that they sold you a belt for a car with ACE

Whats the green `S`warning light surronded by a cog mean on the dash?

The Green "S" light on the dash is for sport mode. This can be turned on by the mode switch by the gear selector. If your vehicle is equipped with ACE (Active cornering Enhancement) Sport mode will help stiffen the suspension with hydraulic fluid. Hope this helps.

Best of luck

I also have a 2002 TD5 Disco After I carefully

You can remove the negative terminal of your battery which will reset the computer. This may shut the lights off. The truck will have to re-learn your driving habits and should occur after over 16 kms or so of travel!

2002 VW passat wagon brakes

Check the level of the brake fluid, as the pads wear down the fluid level falls slightly and the sensor reacts and gives the warning, it may happen more as you are cornering and the brake fluid moves, try gently topping up the brake fluid it doesn't need much..

Which serpentine belt do I need for my 2001 Land Rover Discovery II se7 ??? Pep Boy is offering me 2 differnet kind/types.

I have responded to this problem in the past. 2001 discos had an ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement) option. ACE vehicles had an additional hydraulic pump for the system therefore ACE vs Non_ACE cars require different belts.

Engine block amber light

sounds like your check engine light is on. On 99ish 3 series the check engine light was an amber engine in the instrument cluster. I thought 5 series actually said service engine soon. If you cycle your key the bulb check should illuminate all lights. see if you have a light that says service engine soon, if not, the amber engine, is the check engine light.

I'm trying to replace a belt on a 1999 Landrover Discovery. The part store diagram only has 8 pulleys, but the truck actually has 9.

The 1999 had an optional ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement) suspension option. ACE cars have a separate hydraulic pump. If your car is equipped with ACE it might explain the other pulley.
