The firing order for your engine is 1-3-4-2 distributor rotates counterclockwise.

How do I get top dead center of #1 piston?


take out no 1 spark plug,turn engine over tillyou feel strong compression and look at the front pulley make sure the timing mark indicates t.d.c,and even take off distributor cap and check rotor is pointing at no 1 terminal

My Subaru DL has no high beam at all


a:test the bulbs first
b:test is power to the wire plus to the bulb
c:check the fuse
d:listen where is the low beam relay,usually high beam next of it,change the low relay to high relay see it work.

Rpms wont go down


The throttle cable could be stuck, otherwise your idle sensor may have gone bad. I would suggest testing the sensor with a meter.
