I have a 2005 make Renault Scenic Il petrol. The instrument display is digital. It blacks out or is very grainy. The trip computer and clock does not retain memory and the Odometer has added ~12000km on. it appears as though there is a "loos wire, however, the garage tells me it is the whole dash board cluster and computer that needs replacing

I got this free Pdf manual from reliable-store. com for free and I don't think Ive visited a mechanic or fixya for help for more than 3-4 times out of the 20 times I fixed the chipper in these 4 years

u have a faulty dash,this is common issue for digital instrument cluster.u can have it repaired ,most of the time there is a blown fuse inside the cluster.its an smd type fuse.Or replace it with a second hand but ull have to transfer ur mileage data if the other cluster got higher mileage...

its a renault ,what else do you expect ??hope you got a nice discount to compensate you for a dealer only repair car.these cars are sold under false pretences as they are a millstone around your neck with their electrics and encrypted software.the repair is to change the facia behind the radio as its a one piece electrical circuit and if you unplug it the famous renault immobiliser cuts in so its dealer only .

you will need to remove the clocks and replace the bulbs.
