My 2003 chevy truck 1500 with a v6 runs good 15miles and after that it starts missing and like something holding it back

IF the "check engine" or "service engine soon" light is on. You can take it to most any auto parts store to get the codes read.

Better yet would be to find someone with an actual scanning tool to see what all of the sensors are reading.

IF there is no check engine or service engine soon light on then it could be quite a few different things wrong.

A plugged catalytic converter is a possibility. Another item that i ran across on 3 different vehicles within a day was a bad coolant temperature sensor. All 3 vehicles ran fine when 1st started, but then slowly started to "load up" or run rich. REAL rich.

Turned out on all 3 vehicles there was NO check engine/service engine soon light but after hooking up the scanning tool all 3 showed the coolant temp sensor was reading -40°!!

Yup, the computer was being told the engine was at 40 BELOW zero. The computer took that info and adjusted the fuel/air mixture and timing to help the engine warm up.

While the engine warmed up, the sensor kept saying it was 40 below and made the engine run rich.

This MAY be the problem, but without a scan tool it's hard to say.

Hope this helps.

Service Engine Soon light came on a day after I didn't tighten my gas cap I noticed I had put in half a tank in my Nissan Armada 2006 needle didn't go up as quickly as it usually does. Then this light...

its best to have a diognostics test done and this will give you the cause of the problem and it will reset your cars computer which shouldn then turn the light off

I just bought a nissan pathfinder 2006 3 days ago it was running out of gas so i stop to put some in and i didnt click it and now the service engine soon light came on i dont know what to do ?

Run your truck by Auto Zone have thim reset the light. Befor you start your truck click the gas cap 3 times. If the light returnes then it is most likely the gas cap ring went bad and will need to be replaced.

My service eng soon light stays on

Could be something a little as a gas cap, take it to Autozone they can do a free code reading, this way you'll know if it's something small or major, but if it's some thing other then a gas cap, have it check at a repair shop before buying any kind of sensor's.

1998 Cheverolet Lumina, ''service engine soon'' and hard gear shift

I doubt the two problems are connected. I would try a new gas cap and see what happens since it runs fine. The service engine soon light won't reset on it's own right away.

Service engine soon light came on. AutoZone read

Sometimes you have to wait a week for the light to go off, the computer has to go through several start/run/stop cycles.

"Service enging soon" light stays on....

This could be a number of things causing this ...most common is that after you fill up the gas cap is not fully tightened...make sure it "clicks" 3 times while turning. The other common problem is that the gasket on the gas cap is old and thus does not seal the tank/fuel filler area...check with replacing the cap.If neither correct then you will need to bring to a service center or dealer to run a code check...maybe a bad O2 sensor or a code for the transmission.

Service engine soon

hi, this is just a reset issue. sometimes the CPU can become confused. the original warning that informed you about your gas cap is still in the cpu's memory. you will have to reset the cpu and, this will clear the warning. After the reset, it will stay off. chevy cpu's tend to do this from time to time.
