2002 pathfinder when it sits for a long period of time n i start it it blows alot of white smoke through exhaust other than that it runs fine

White exhaust smoke usually comes from coolant in the cylinders, indicating a cracked head or blown head gasket. The best test is to pressurize the cooling system, then remove the sparkplugs and look for moisture in the cylinders. Turning the engine over with the plugs out will spray a mist from any cylinder with coolant in it.

Burning gazoline and white smoke is coming out to tail pipe

This means its running rich, burnning to much gas. this could be due to a bad mass air flow sensor or bad o2 sensors or even a bad fuel pressure regulator, i would start with the fuel pressure regulator, remove the vacuum hose that goes to it and start the engine and see if gas is leaking from the port that vac hose goes to and if it is then replace that regulator and see how it runs from there. the rest you will need a scan tool to check the readings of the o2 sensors and mass air flow sensor. another thing is that if the engine is running rough it may be misfiring , skipping due to bad wires or sparkplugs. white smoke means alot of gas is being burnt and a regulator would be the first thing i would look at. good day.

My car takes a few seconds to start but does start it has alot of white smoke that comes out when you finally get it started and it backfires sometimes it also fluctuates rmp's when its idling and...

White smoke is what color exhaust is when your burning antifreeze. The antifreeze is making the plugs wet and hard to start. You need to have your car checked for a head gasket.

How much should my Ford ranger 2.5td be smoking,is it normal for diesel engens to smoke.

Sometimes diesel engines will put out black smoke under extreme acceleration. Other than that, they shouldn't smoke. Black is excess fuel, White smoke is water and bluish is oil. White smoke on a cool morning is not necessarily a sign of a problem unless it happens every time you start it through a warm day. Hope this helps.

VW Golf 1994 died as if the key was turned off; will not restart.

Could be a head gasket leak as white smoke is a sign of water. I would suggest having it checked. It doesnt take alot to cause white smoke.

Car is hard to start, keeps stalling, white smoke coming out of tail pipe

It sounds to me like you have a head gasket leaking. See if you can get a gauge and check each cylinder. Are you using alot of anti freeze?

When truck gets warm it will not run over 45 mph

Puffing white smoke is a sign of a blown head gasket. Coolant is getting into the cylinders.

F-350 turbo-diesel hard starting

Imagine the white smoke is unburnt diesel. Anybody standing in the middle of it will be able to tell you soon enough.

Most likely culprit is that one or two of the glow plugs aren't getting hot enough. Usually just that the plugs need replacing, but worth checking first that the busbar which runs between them all is getting +12V at the appropriate stage of the process.
