Easiest to do by removing the three mounting bolts..then remove the upper intake plenum..pull up through the opening just made ..will scrape the firewall a little but better than the option that the books says about taking apart your drive axle

SOURCE: how do i remove the alternator from the ford

Hi there,

Disconnect the negative side of the battery. Then, remove the tire. Next, you must have to remove the halfshaft -you may want to remove it complete instead of broke the metal tag- This is the easy part. This is the difficult part: The next step is dettach the alternator. It has three bolts: one in the top, two in the bottom, after remove them, you must have to unplug it. It suppose to take off the car by the halfshaft space.
