Have you replaced your fuelfilter lately? This could be a fuel related pressure problem.

Have you recently put on a cold air intake? Or reoiled an oiled air filter? These cause the engine to run lean by making the engine think its getting more air than it actually is.
If its a CAI, well youre kinda stuck, you need to get a chip and reprogram the computer. If it is because of an oiled air filter, it means you used too much oil, use less next time. You will need to find and clean your mass air flow sensor.
If it is neither of these, then you have a more serious problem.

1999 chevrolet 1500 with a 5.3 engine engine light on had check had a code in it po171 and po174 sey burning to lean on bank 1 and bank 2 what should i check for did pass inspection

Running lean on both banks? Check intake tubing/hoses for loose clamps and cracks/tears aft of the mass airflow sensor. Could also be a fairly large vacuum leak.

Error codes PO171, PO174 on 6.0 2004 silverado, what are they?

P0171 means: System too lean (Bank 1) P0174 means: System too lean (Bank 2). Sounds like your injectors are not getting enough fuel.

I have a 2007 Silverado WT (new bodystyle) 4.8 V8 and has 30,000 miles on it. Check engine light came on and it was PO171 and PO174 (system to lean Bank 1 and 2). The problems are trys to die when I start...

If you are having a lean indication, and miss-fire,then the fuel pressure is most likely the problem, change the fuel filter,if this does not help, then have the fuel pressure checked, the fuel pump maybe weak,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Diagnsis codes

replace your bank 1 (driver's side) position 1 (pre-convertor) O2 sensor. It probably will be completely black, the p0134, 134 and 1133 are all for that O2 sensor, the P0171 is for lean fuel trim on bank 1, and the p0300 is for a misfire probably caused by the lean fuel mixture.
