You may need to check the engine timing, that would be the first thing,, 4.3 is also bad about leakes in the fuel lines that are under the intake manifold. this is part of the fuel injection system, it will cause it to rough idle, but will accelerate fine, but when come to stop, will have a rough idle.

I have the same truck and had same problem,it is your distrubritor cap and rotor button. There was a recall on that truck because they ran air condition line over the distributor cap and for some reason the condensation messes up the inside I have had to change mine about every 6 months and it fixes it.

4.3 check engine light flashes with code303

Do you mean p0303? And on a gm 4.3l V6? If so this is a cylinder 3 misfire. Cylinder 3 is the back drivers side cylinder. You will need to check the plug and wire. A compression test to rule out any I ternary problem would be advisable as well. Compression test needs to be done on all 6 cylinders. The results should fall in a range of +/- 10%. There are tons of causes for this from ignition module, wire, plug, injector or fuel delivery, bad map/maf sensor, valves problem, ring problem etc.

No a knock sensor can not make a misfire. Check the coils, plugs and fuel pressure .The random misfires are cause the knock sensor to throw the code.

If you have someone scan it with a scan tool that gives you data stream they can tell you exactly what cylinder is doing it. You might have a bad coil or wire.
