First of all, go to Autozone or a similar type parts store and have them hook up their hand held analyzer to your car and read a code, then they will give you a printout with the code definition. take care. by the way, the dealer charges up to 100 for that test, at Autozone, it is Free.

I was driving my 2007 acura rdx when I noticed the sh-awd light on. I then saw the check engine light on. Later when I turned my car on again the check engine light was still on, not the sh-awd light. ...

The SH AWD uses electromagnetic clutch in the back drive axle to change the power distribution to the rear wheels. It would have nothing to do with the P0171 error. What TPMS valve stem was bad? Because this could be a clue to what the problem is. If a rear tire is having issues it could cause the sensor to make adjustments to the system to compensate for the tire. The person that changed the TPMS might have also caused the issue when they worked on the tires.

Can you disable the tpms on a peugeot 407

"Can you disable the tpms on a peugeot 407" yes, you can, using a Lexia/PPS interface, and, in the diagbox software, you can disable the tpms. Your Peugeot dealer can do it this way too.

The tpms is on

Hi, if you see this TPMS icon illuminated, it means your vehicle has a low tire. STOP, and check the inflation pressure in your tires. This warning light will come on if tire pressure in any of your tires falls more than 25% below the recommended inflation pressure (refer to your owners manual, or the tire inflation decal in the glovebox, driver door pillar or gas tank filler cap lid for tire inflation pressure recommendations).
The TPMS warning light should come on for about one second when the ignition key is first turned on for a bulb check. It should then go out if all of the tires are properly inflated. If it does not go out, or it comes on while driving, you have a low tire.
If the TPMS warning light is flashing, it indicates a fault has been detected in the TPMS system that will require further diagnosis. Common faults include a bad tire pressure sensor, a defective keyless entry receiver module, a fault in the TPMS or body control module (BCM), or wiring problems in the keyless entry/TPMS/BCM circuit.

Remote start stop working and now check engine light is own. also had a blow out on my front passenger side and not monitor says to check tire monitor can i fix it or do it have to go to the shop.

The remote start will become inactive if the check engine light is on. You will probably need to go to shop to find out why the check engine light came on but alternatively if there is an advanced auto or Autozone they can scan these free of charge and tell what code or codes caused the engine light to come on and possibly what needs repared to correct the engine light.Once the engine is taken care of the remote start should start working again. The tire may just need replaced and all tires aired to proper pressure. Many of these once the condition are corrected driving them for a few minutes will reset the tpms but if it does not the tpms may need to be reset by a qualified shop.

Check your tire pressure, and adjust as necessary first.

Next, have you changed anything having to do with the rims/tires/valve stems? The valve stems mounted in your factory rims have a tire pressure monitoring sensor/transmitter mounted on the inside. The valve stem itself is the antenna for the transmitter. If you have had the valve stems, valve cores, or even the valve caps replaced, that can cause a fault in the system.

Also if you used a canned flat repair like 'Fix-A-Flat', that could be clogging the sensor. I don't recommend using fix-a-flat on tires with TPMS, but if you're in a jam, sometimes you have to.

If you had the tires changed, the shop has to be careful when mounting and dismounting the tires. The sensors are easy to damage with tire tools.

In order to reset the TPMS, there is a small button either in the glove compartment, or under the steering wheel. Turn the ignition to the 'on' position without starting the engine. Press and hold the button for approximately three seconds. The light will begin flashing. Release the button and wait at least 7 seconds for the system to relearn the sensors. Then turn the key to the 'off' position. Start the engine, and check that the light turns off after about a second.

If the light still stays on, you need to have the TPMS serviced by a qualified mechanic. This should be either a Toyota dealer, or a shop that uses the appropriate TPMS testing equipment.

Good luck, I hope this helped!

How to reset low pressure light after having new tires installed

Though all of these TPMS applications use a similar technology and strategy to detect a low tire, there is no common reset procedure. GM is probably the worst, with 10 different reset procedures depending on the application. Toyota is probably the best, with only one simple reset procedure for all of their indirect TPMS systems (though a slightly different procedure is used on the Lexus models).

TPMS reset procedures may also be found in the vehicle owner’s manual (if it hasn’t been lost). Open the glove box and check the index in the owner’s manual for any TPMS information.

CHEVY IMPALA &
MONTE CARLO

On a Chevy Impala or Monte Carlo with indirect TPMS, a totally different reset procedure is required. You can use the light switch or radio to reset the system. With the light switch procedure, turn the ignition on (engine off), the turn the light switch from OFF to parking lamps three times within five seconds. With the radio technique, turn the ignition on (engine off). With the radio off, hold the DISP button until “SETTINGS” is displayed. Use the SEEK button to scroll down the menu until you see “TIRE MON.” Press the PREV or NEXT buttons until “RESET” is displayed. Then press the DISP button again. You should hear a chime and see “DONE” to indicate the TPMS system has been successfully reset. Use the SEEK button to scroll through the menu until “DONE” is shown, then press DISP once more to exit from the learn mode.

Good luck and this should work for you. They changed the reset procedure on the 2006 Impala.

It is the Tire Pressure Mounted System (TPMS). It monitors the air pressure in your tires. If it is on, you have low tire pressure...or like me, it's just a faulty indicator. Mine came on, but I don't even have TPMS on my vehicle.
