If you have a broken or leaking exhaust system , soot can collect in the muffler , after sealing the exhaust and starting the motor you can make a huge cloud of black smoke. With an extreme temperature change from hot to cold when you start the motor the next day all the soot breaks loose and makes a huge cloud of black smoke. If you drive with a plugged air filter , you run the engine under in an overly rich condition and can leave a trail of back smoke. If you let your diesel sit and idle for a long time when you take off you can create a lot of smoke. If you are using a low grade of diesel fuel you can also have large amounts of soot.

Mean there might be fuel leaking into the engine or the air to deisel ratio is and not atomised correctly. the main causes are normally is the air filter that isnt allowing air into the engine. Fuel filter can also be at fault not allowing enough fuel in or allowing to much in the engine sometimes. This causes the chamber to burn it out. Fuel injector if fualty could allow to much fuel or not enough. My personal suggestion would be to run fuel injector cleaner first, then change the air filter. If that doesn't fix it change the fuel filter. I would go the cheapest route first. Is is prolly something simple

Why tucson produce lot of black smoke when driving up or racing

Black smoke is usually excess fuel, whereas blue smoke is excess oil. Bad coolant temp sensor, vacuum leak, bad maf, map, other. Best guess is coolant temp sensor as these often fail, making computer think engine is cold and thus causing way too much fuel delivery.

Why does vvti engine SMOKING HEAVILY 135000kms .1.6 verso. is this common?

if its black smoke then its a fuel problem too much fuel the car can`t burn it . could be fuel injector over fueling. if its white smoke then its burning coolant, there is a head gasket problem that is damaged in the cyl #3 area. it could also be a bad valve guide/valve seal, oil rings, compression rings. you don`t say what colour the smoke is.

Black smoke from exhaust but computor saying 44.5 mpg around town. 2.0ltr. mondeo deisel

Your duplicate question did not say it was a diesel.
Usually black smoke on a diesel is dirty injectors or the engine temp not reaching normal range.

MY 94 rodeo 2.8lt turbo diesel blows lots of smoke when the throttle is down.. When i lift the foot of it stops smoking.. can you help..

if its black smoke and id say it is being a deisel it can be injectors or just simply fuel pump timing. get it to a deisel specialist to check the pump timing and your fuel load under acceleration, only real way to get it sorted.
