Its likely the belt take a bar of dove hand soap and carefully hold it against the ribs of the belt while its turning it should quiet right up. if not it could be a water pump bearing or power steering or idler or any other pulley.

ACCELERATING ISSUES & SQUEALING/LOUD SQUEAKING SOUND UNDER HOOD WHEN I TURN ON CAR

take it back to the guy who did the job and have him adjust the drive belt for the alternator and power steering as that will be the most likely cause of the squealing . If it is an automatic have the fluid level checked . Have the fault codes read and have him fix any sensor problems.

When car is running idle or at slow speeds it makes a squeaking sound

There are several heat shields that can squeak or you could just need a new serpentine belt. Unfortunately, a lot of things can cause a 'squeak' but without knowing what area it comes from, if it changes with engine speed, or vehicle speed, I can't give you any pinpoint information.

On our 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan we changed both the belt and the pulleys but the cat still squeaks when we drive. first it was only when accelerate but now it is during idling, too. Our mechanic...

The tensioner could be weak. also there are some cheap belts that the autostores sell, no matter what you do they squeak. If the mechanic put the belt on, I would ask for a better grade. 90% of shops will use the cheapest part that they can find. I would start with the belt, then go to the tensioner

When I raise the hood and with motor running looking to my left there is a belt running and a squeaking noise at idle coming from that area. The van is front wheel drive so motor sits in there sideways.

Has it just started with cold weather? Does it squeal at first then as the engine is revved, stop squealing.

If so its probably your alternator belt has worked loose and needs tightening. I'd check this out first, if you've not done it before ask a friend with some know how for guidance. But as a guide, there should be about an inch of give when flexed on the longest run between 2 pulleys, if more then probably needs tightening. If more than a couple of years old, replace with a new one.

If it still squeals after tightening/replacing, you could have a faulty water pump bearing or pulley bearing. Either would require replacement to pre-empt catastrophic failure and resultant engine damage.

Clutch makes a squealing noise

Hello;
The throw out bearing is going oout. The reason you hear the squeal when you push in the clutch is that is when the throw out bearing spins up. Rest of the time it does not spin.It is irratating, You should replace the entire clutch assembly when you replace the throw out bearing. Hope this helps, rate me high.
Thanks;

My dodge dakota 1987 squeals at 50 miles an hour

I'll BET you have window visors or rain guards!
Look at the bottom of them as you drive air will go between the door and the guards and make a very nice squealing noise.
