Why isnt the engine making kick start sound when sparkplug is in

If you are replacing the spark plug with the correct plug for your engine there should be no reason the plug would go in too far. If you have spark but it won't start the next thing to look at is do you have fuel?

I think i lost the spark engine just cranks over but does not start

then just check if you have spark at any of the sparkplugs...

1. remove one of the spark plugs,
2. re-connect the cable
3. make contact between sparkplug anode and engine (have rubber gloves - it helps... there is 15kv on the sparkplug...)
4. turn engine and check if there is spark in

you can check that on all/any cylinder

if there is no spark - check:
1. starter fuse
2. ignition fuse
3. coil
4. distributor cap if mechanical...

hope this will help you - do not forget to vote...

Possibly a vacuum leak, double ck the spark plugs installed for the proper plugs. Were they gapped correctly?

2001 gti won't start, it cranks.

the first thing to do is find out whats missing, you will need to see if it has fuel going to the engine, this is done with a fuel pressure gauge, then you need to check for spark, remove a sparkplug wire from a sparkplug and with a spark tester check for spark, there could be a loss of spark or fuel and last thing may be a broken timing belt.

I own a toyota gli '93 and i was taught that to check if your sparkplugs are ok, you should try unplugging each sparkplug by pulling out the tension wire attached. If the engine shake, the your sparkplug...

If you remove the a plug wire and the spark has no where to go, it will find the weakest spot. Sounds like the spark found a weak spot in your distributor, it either found a ground path through the rotor or it fried the coil, in any case its going to be something inside the distributor. By the way pulling the wires with the engine running does not tell you the condition of the spark plugs it only tell you if the cylinders are contributing any power.

Won't start turns over getting fuel and fire

make sure you are getting spark through the sparkplug wires. a sparkplug tester is the easiest way, or take a wire off one of the plugs try starting it and have another person watch the wire to see if a spark is coming off the wire to the sparkplugNOTE set the wire close to the sparkplug but leave a small gap between plug and wire so you can see the sparks. if not getting spark check all fuses first, otherwise the coil could be bad. or it could have coilpacks and one could be badNOTE every coilpack has two studs for wire, sometimes only one side of coilpack works if so it is bad both sides haft to work.

97 Ford Probe GT not starting

WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock

Check your spark plugs and wires yourself. Remove one sparkplug at a time from the engine block, plug the wire back on, place the sparkplug on the engine or vehicle body so that the outer thread of the sparkplug would touch the body, or engine (GND) you can secure it with a cellotape or so. Turn the ignition key to the START position and when starter is spinning wach for high voltage sparks appearing between the body, engine or gasket and the tiny black end of the sparkplug called electrode. If there's a sparks, than it's fine, othervise try to get one working sparkplug and to retest this. If now it works then your sparkplugs needs to be replaced. Othervise check the resistance of the high voltage coil primary windings. this should be something between 0.2 and 10 ohms, when coil is disconnected from vehicles wiring. I just do nts remember the exact figure. If multimeter doesn't show anything, replace the coil, otherwise check if the supply current is flowing to the coil plug when IGN is ON. If it's fine then check the COM line at the same plug, using analog muldimeter is the easiest and not harmfull way to do this. If COM isn't comming You might need to go deeper into ECU, or even to replace it. If COM is fine then it would identfy that coil itself is faulty.

Update me about your progress

Good luck
