The fuel pump inertia switch is located in the trunk mounted on the hinge. Press the reset button down to reset the power to the pump. If the pump still does not work there is a relay inside the box where the inertia switch is located. If that is ok, check the fuse for the fuel pump.

I have a 1995 contienntal and the engine turns over but it giving a 1234 fault code on an engine scanner. This is suppose to be a fuel pump module which has already been replaced. Any ideas

Check the fuel shut off switch in the trunk, a faulty switch can bring this code up even if your fuel pump has been replaced. Its located in the trunk.

I have a 1999 lincoln continental and was driving and shut off and the ignition turns, I have full power but it will not start

Your fuel pump inertia switch may have tripped off. I think it is in the trunk. Reset it. See owner manual for location.

good test is to turn key to ON and listen for hum of fuel pump in gas tank for seconds.

1996 Lincoln Continental engine shuts off

replace inertia switch in trunk first. It is designed to shut off fuel pump in an accident. It may be too sensitive.

Other possibility is the fuel pump relay near the engine computer.

Last is computer power relay since it powers the computer, and the computer operates the fuel pump relay.

report back please.

just press the button to reset it. Per your owner manual. Should only trip in an accident.

WHen you turn on the key, can you hear the fuel pump run for 5 seconds. The pump is in the fuel tank. listen there while someone turns the key on. report back.
