Turn the key off as soon as they are up. Not the motor.

Hello, there are different types of mounts for the wipers. Most of my Ford and Mercury products have a U looped end on the wiper arm. There is a button on the wiper and you push the plastic button and slide the wiperblade off the U bracket.

What is sometimes tricky is the wiper arm goes through and underneath the new blade. When you slide the new blade into the looped end it will lock.

Autozone will install for free and Walmart is kind of neat. Walmart will install free and you pay the same price for the blade as off the shelf.

There are other kinds of mounts. I have seen POST mounts which are simply a post on the end of the arm. But there are different size posts. The plastic clip is removed to these and the blade simply lifts off. Then reattach the clip.

Worthy of mention. Put wipers on and turn off ignition when the wiper is conveniently stopped at a place where you can easily reach them. Some wiper arms can be lifted and they will stay lifted off the glass for service.

Wipes staying in upright position

GM has a service bulletin on this. You need to replace the crank arm on the motor and the bracket the arm catches to make the arm go down when they park instead of up.

How do i time my wiper blades after replacing wiper motor blades stay in vertical position when set on interrmitent

Remove the wiper arms from the drive posts. Turn on your wipers with the engine running and shut the wipers off -- this will put the wiper drive posts in the park position.

Reinstall the wiper arms so the blades are about an inch above the bottom of the windshield.

Back Wiper wouldn't stay close to window

Sounds like you have a bent wiper arm. Maybe somebody in a parking lot pulled on it. You can try rebending it towards the window by removing the arm and slightly bending it. A little bend should do. I don't know why Dodge didn't make these spring loaded like the fronts.
Good luck and keep us posted.
